update on Shayel's hip - MRI results and next steps

Shayel had her MRI last week. She was AMAZING. She laid perfectly still for 25 minutes. Then she had to have 2 more vials of blood drawn for more of those tests and once again she didn't even blink - this kid is hard core.

One of the blood tests was fine (don't remember which or what it was for exactly), the other will take a few more days to get the results (some sort of genetic marker thing)

The MRI showed no joint damage but marked inflammation. They've referred us to the Rheumatologist at Denver Childrens Hospital. We've resumed the Naproxen but need to do better at giving it to her twice a day. She is still experiencing pain and stiffness esp. if she sits for long periods of time or on the floor cross legged. Fortunately horse riding doesn't seem to aggravate it. Hopefully the Rheumatologist will have some better ideas of how to prevent further problems and manage the pain without taking NSAIDs long term (which could cause other problems down the line)...we will hopefully also get some more information regarding prognosis and physical therapy. I specifically would like her to see a specialist about her in-toeing because I suspect it's making her symptoms worse.

This annoyance definitely isn't getting her down or stopping her activity and for that I'm grateful. Hopefully if they land on an official diagnosis of idiopathic arthritis, it ends up calming down and rarely (if never) flaring again.
