EVDC09 part 1a.

At the beginning of our time together, there was an energy of anticipation in the room that was palpable. The anticipation was one of “conclusion”. Coming out on the other side with answers, direction, goals, etc. (for the most part anyway). Many of us carried into the room the burden of the people who shared with us their dreams for EV. We felt the burden of wanting to have answers to bring back.

Instead, we were taken on a different kind of journey that was ultimately much better than just hashing stuff out and coming out with answers.

What we discovered was the age old understanding of so many traditions and cultures that the process is as important, if not more so than the destination.

For those of you invested in Emergent Village or even on a broader scale, the Christian Emergence/emerging Christianity, to any degree, I would encourage you to go on this journey with us as we unveil our time together. In other words, read the words of those involved as they unfold, culminating with an “official announcement” of some sort.

While we did not emerge on Sunday with detailed specifics in terms of function, systems, etc. those are coming and we DID emerge with specifics in terms of some form.

My theory is that you will find the “end” much more meaningful and make more sense if you stick with us on the telling of our experiences. I think the temptation would be to just wait until some sort of official announcement is made but following the stories of the individuals involved will be more helpful I think.

The weird and wonderful life of Makeesha.

I am a mom to girls, an actor's wife, a designer , a dancer, a knitter and a sexy super hero (true story). I dance, leap, stumble and meander through this adventure called life. Sometimes I soar.
